Dixie, 4 month old, 18 pound, hound mix
We have so many good things to say about Dixie. A superb athlete, Dixie runs like the wind on her long legs and fetches with precision, dropping a ball at your feet. An observant dog, Dixie will watch you intently and strive to please you. She is a quick learner, quite intelligent, and will be happiest when kept stimulated with games and lots of playtime with people and other dogs. She is leash and crate trained and sleeps through the night. Although Dixie is high energy, she also loves her down time and is very affectionate and easily bonded to people. Dixie was waiting to be adopted and finally went to a lovely family, only to be returned. The return was due to circumstances that had nothing to do with Dixie. Having survived a horrible case of mange when very little and now having had multiple transitions, Dixie deserves to have a change in luck. She will be a wonderful dog for an active family looking for an energetic and intelligent medium sized dog. Could that be you?
With puppies, we are looking for people who are not out of the house for more than 3 hours at a time and not gone for more than 5 hours a day. We find that families with older children are ideal as they best understand the needs of a puppy.
If you are interested in meeting Dixie or another dog at Shultz’s, please click “How to Adopt” above for more information about the “Meet and Greet” and adoption process. We will need an application on file before an appointment is able to be set. Our “Meet and Greets” are by appointment, at a time that will work for you and us. Thank you!
