Helen, 10 week old female, mixed breed - Pending Adoption

This little girl is part of our Olympic Team, although she fairs more on the side of our “Special” Olympics – emphasis on the ‘special’ as she is its epitome — quite the little love with a big open heart! She is very sweet and loves to be cuddled, enjoys belly rubs and naps in laps! Oh, and those blue eyes…

When first found with her litter mates, she was exceedingly stressed, anxiously vocal and seemingly unsettled. Upon such close supervision and investigation, it was considered that she is deaf. Her name is Helen, and much like Helen Keller, this little sweetheart, despite her young age, and her potential deafness, has already shown a remarkable ability to cope, coupled with a noticeable resilience — as if she was no different than her siblings.

As we learn more about Helen, provide more medical testing, we will work with her to ensure that she continues to strive on her own. She will need a special home with a family that has the means and the time to give her the special training that she will need in order to understand hand signals. We are already implementing these in our daily routine with her.

With puppies, we are looking for people who are not out of the house for more than 3 hours at a time and not gone for more than 5 hours a day.  We find that families with older children are ideal as they best understand the needs of a puppy.

If you are interested in meeting these puppies or another dog at Shultz’s, please click “How  to Adopt” above for more info about the “Meet and Greet” and adoption processes.  We will need an application on file before an appointment is able to be set.  Our “Meet and Greets” are by appointment, at a time that will work for you and us.  Thank you!
